LEOMINSTER MARCHING
BLUE DEVILS
Marching
band. It's what we do.

The
Leominster Marching Blue Devils, under the
direction of Barry Hudson (Star of
Indiana and Crossmen), has long
been a respectable, critically-acclaimed and
award-winning organization for promoting
pride, honor and dedication in the
Leominster community and the surrounding
regions. The band has existed long since the
opening and re-opening of Leominster High
School, and has greatly evolved and grown in
numbers over many decades.
Hailing
from Leominster, Massachusetts, the Marching
Blue Devils consists of over 75 members who
play instruments from all ensemble groups.
Their main mission is to inspire lifelong
academic, social and personal growth through
music. Through work in live performances,
students from the organization learn
important life values such as discipline and
the importance of teamwork, and stress the
value of hard work and its rewarding
benefits. Ranging from grades 7-12, students
perform music at the intermediate level,
where their abilities are challenged and
honed through public performance and
experience. Performances include annual
half-time presentations, seasonal concerts,
community service events, parades and, new
since 2004, competitions. Since they entered
the competitive world of marching three
years ago, the Leominster Marching Blue
Devils have garnered two Bronze medals, one
for Music from the Motion Picture
Pirates of the Caribbean and one for
The Music of Earth, Wind and Fire.
Last year
proved to be a remarkable year for the
Devils with the band having the greatest
number of people Leominster has seen in over
40 years. That year also marked the Devils'
first 4-star (out of 5 stars) win in
competition and most importantly, the
band received the most prestigious honor of
performing for the first time in the middle
of the Magic Kingdom inside
Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL for over
20,000 spectators and fans. The year was
filled of many firsts and notable
accomplishments; however, it also held the
biggest graduating class the band has ever
seen. Nineteen members graduated in 2007,
each going to famed colleges such as
Cornell University, University of
Massachusetts Amherst and Holy Cross,
and one member into the United States Marine
Corps band.
The
upcoming season features drum major
Claire Bronchuk and assistant drum major
Elizabeth Alden leading a band of
over 30 new members performing for the very
first time as well as over 40 returning
members. This year's most talked-about show
highlights music by the "Queen of Latin Pop"
herself. Five-time Grammy Award-winning
artist Gloria Estefan is the
inspiration behind this year's all-new field
presentation with the band performing a
selection of her #1 hits: Conga,
1-2-3, Rhythm Is Gonna
Get You and Get On Your Feet.
The next generation of
Blue Devils will premiere in their first
public appearance in Leominster on September
22 at Doyle Field. For more appearances,
